At Ramillies Hall Nursery we are fully committed to safeguarding and working together to ensure that all children thrive and are protected from harm. 

Our safeguarding team comprises our Designated Safeguarding Lead, Mrs Lindsey Vincent (Nursery Manager) and our Designated Safeguarding Officers, Miss Zoe Vincent (Assistant Manager) and Mrs Maria Royal (Nursery Deputy).  All staff are fully trained in safeguarding and child protection and have a duty to report any concerns that they have about any child or the behaviour and wellbeing of any adult who works within the nursery.

The safeguarding team and HR Manager are trained in Safer Recruitment and ensure that rigours checks are done to ensure the suitability of all employees to work safely with children, and these checks include obtaining a clear enhanced DBS prior to staff being able to work with children.

Any safeguarding concerns regarding children are discussed with parents, where it is safe to do so, in the first instance, and any referral needed will be made with parent’s full knowledge and in the spirit of working together to safeguarding children.

We ask parents to inform us of any injuries, marks etc their child has sustained before coming into nursery on any day so that these can be recorded.   A record of any accidents and injuries occurring to children either at home or at nursery is kept for every child so that any patterns and regularity can be monitored and if necessary will be investigated.

We have a Whistleblowing policy which allows employees to raise any concerns about other adults in the setting and their behaviour towards children without fear of reprisal. Any concerns will be investigated and reported to the ‘DO’, the Designated Officer for Stockport.

Our safeguarding procedures are in line with those used by Safeguarding Stockport and the Greater Manchester Safeguarding Partnership.

If you have a safeguarding concern where the child has been harmed or is at risk of harm e.g. physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect, you must talk to one of the safeguarding team immediately. If you are unable to contact them you can ask a member of staff to contact them immediately, or use the following contacts to report your concerns yourself.
